The ice just cracks under his foot BEFORE he gets pushed, so I think he may have falled in anyway.

However, it wouldn't have been anywhere near as funny!

If you look closely you can see a slightly different texture of ice where his foot initially goes through. I assume this means that the ice must have been thinner so he would have fallen in regardless. Thats ruined you picture james!

If you look even closer the penguin that pushes him in was added onto the scene after the action took place.
