27/08/03 - Bullock to miss a year
DARREN Bullock's season has ended before it's started after he was handed a six-month ban and £150 fine.
Bullock, already suspended until Christmas, was given an additional 182-day ban by the Worcestershire Football Association after being found guilty of threatening a referee and common assault on a referee. The charges relate to an incident on August 9.
The ban comes into effect on December 8 and makes him unavailable until June 8 next year.
Midfielder Bullock, formerly with Bury and Worcester City, started a 35-day ban on Monday for playing while suspended and begins a 70-day ban on September 29 for offensive and abusive remarks to a referee.
Bromsgrove Rovers boss George Rooney said: "It's over for the season. It's all down to the lad now. We have done as much as we can.
"We offered him a vehicle to resurrect what was left of the season but he has been foolish beyond belief."
Bullock, who has played just four games for Rovers since January, was also handed an indefinite ban in March by the Herefordshire FA for failing to pay a fine. That matter was resolved.
