pirates

I've just finished watching 'Pirates of the Carribean' for the second time. The first time I saw it was with my sisters, the second with a bunch of friends, some of whom had already seen it, some who hadn't.
I think that on reflection, the plot and dialogue seem worse second time through, but the scenery improves and Jonny Depp's performance seems to owe even MORE to Eddie Izzard.
What (if anything) does anyone else reckon? Has anyone else seen it? (and the crutial question) does Orlando Bloom make a better pirate than Elf? I personally don't think so.

Could you not have a pirate elf? Lots of opportunities for swinging through rigging etc I suppose.
I love 'Fear and Loathing', so many good quotations:

'There he goes-one of God's own prototypes. Some kind of mutant never considered for mass production: too weird to live, too rare to die...'

'I'm a reasonably responsable citizen, a muliple felon perhaps, but not dangerous.'
