What are your opinions on having a tipple then getting behind the wheel?

Wheres the option "Drinking makes me more confident and therefore a better driver?"

Nice to see we're all pretty sensible then!

Absolutely. It seems weird that when our parents were our age it was perfectly normal to drive from one pub to another- you could never do that today without risking death, perhaps because there are so many more cars on the roads and more people drinking to get drunk.

Perhaps there were lots of deaths related to drink-driving.

In fact there were, it's only because substance abuse is more of a media issue now that drink-driving is so aparant. Previously accidents were not attributed to it.

it of course has nothing at all to do with the mounting fines aimed at motorists. Drink driving now incurs serious fines.
