Dropping stuff on Yorkshire

I found out today (ok, so I don't read very fast and don't watch tv much either) that earlier this year, a plane from RAF Lakenheath (near me) accidently dropped a bomb on Yorkshire.
Ok, so it was a 'practice' bomb (just makes loads of smoke rather than actually going bang in a big way) and only made a big hole in a piece of tarmac nobody much cared about except possibly the company who owned it, but even so it seems like surprisingly little fuss was made about this since:

a) these guys (ilegally) have pretty big nuclear stuff (and nearly blew half of the country to little unhappy bits in 1956 in a somewhat more serious cock-up)

b) surely this is the biggest thing to have happened to Yorkshire in a really long time?!

I think the problem with this kind of thing is that it's only shocking if you care.

I know you care a lot about it, but it really doesn't bother most people that the world could end now... or now... nor even.... now.

If you keep looking at how terrible the world is, you'll miss all the great stuff and also miss your chance to blow up a few foreigners/enjoy life.
